Welcome to Lignano

Lignano Sabbiadoro is a young city of entertainment and vacation and is the center of gravity of the Friuli Venezia Giulia region. It’s bounded on the north side by the Alps and Austria on the south side by the Adriatic Sea and on the east by Slovenia. It offers the tourists marvellous landscapes, beaches, leisure and culture. In the Friuli Venezia Giulia region from the sea to the mountains, from east to west distances do not exceed one hundred kilometers and a modern motorway network makes it easy to get everywhere. Lignano is located on a peninsula over the quiet Adriatic Sea, behind the WWF oasis of Marano Lagunare. For many years we’ve received the "Blue Flag" as a symbol of keeping the beaches, the sea water and port areas clean. One of the attractions, as the name “Sabbiodoro” implies, are the eight kilometres of fine golden sand on the beaches. The city also has one of the most beautiful and spacious Beach Arena in Italy.
